Gen Z. All at Once, MO Museum

Gen Z. All at Once
Gen Z. All at Once was a major group exhibition at MO Museum in Vilnius, on view from 18 April to 30 August 2026. Curated by Michal Novotný, it brought together twenty young artists from eleven Eastern European countries. Their work explores a generation that grew up where public and private, intimacy and exposure, and play and anxiety all exist on the same screen at once.
The exhibition graphics draw on organic, networked forms from our own practice with slime mould. Its branching, self-organising structures echo the way ideas, identities and relationships form in the digital age. We fused this biological logic with the visual language of Gen Z. Wall texts take the shape of social media speech bubbles, reflecting the fragmented, conversational rhythm of posts and messages. Instead of standing alone, the bubbles are threaded together by a continuous, fungi-like network that spreads across the walls.
The edges of the panels appear to erode, as if caught mid-dissolve between states. This blurs the line between structure and collapse, mirroring how memory, identity and reality flow into one another for the generation the exhibition portrays.
